The mail softwood species we offer is Larch, Pine and Spruce, that comes from the Western regions of Russia or from Siberia. Timber harvested in Siberia, where there is a colder climate, results in slower growth and therefore denser, stronger and more stable wood and this gives us a better quality than timber from any other regions. Siberian timber has the best texture for a fine, sharp finish. Our softwood timber is availabe in a range of standard sizes but can also be cut to your individual requirements.

Angara Pine
Angara Pine (Pinus Sylvestris) from Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk regions is a unique pine specie with high durability and density due to the extreme climate conditions in Siberia, and matures at the age of 120-150 years.
It is very suitable for construction, mouldings and furniture production.
The majority of our products are from Ilim Timber in Ust-Ilimsk “Taiga” which we have traded since 1996.

Siberian Larch
Siberian Larch (Larix Sibirica) is a kind of coniferous specie that can reach a lifetime of 400-500 years and more, though trees used in our products are between 150-200 years. It is spread all over Siberia were climate conditions are very harsh with temperatures below -45c during winter and in summer up to +40c.
It has been used for centuries in Russia and some houses and churches are believed to be in existence for more than 600 years.
Siberian Larch has pale creamy brown sapwood and distinctly reddish brown to yellowish heartwood depending of the originated area in Siberia. The tight year rings is a result of the extreme climate conditions in Siberia and give the larch its high durability and density as the content of heartwood can be up to 90%.
Siberian Larch can be challenging to kiln dry and to mill due to a high content of resin and density – the result though is a beautiful durable product which is very resistant to weather impacts and decay.
Siberian Larch is suitable for boat building and outdoor purposes as posts, fencing, decking and cladding, and indoor purposes as flooring, beams, mouldings and furniture.
Our Siberian Larch originates from the regions of Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk both located in central Siberia and with some of the best quality of larch.
The majority of our products are from Ilim Timber in Ust-Ilimsk “Taiga” which we have traded since 1996.

Douglas Thermo modified wood
The Douglas fir originally originates from western North America, where in the coastal areas it can grow up to 100 m tall under optimal growing conditions. It is usually 50-65 m high when felled at the age of approx. 80 years. We mainly get Douglas fir from Germany, and we only use certified wood. Douglas can be recognized by its appearance with pale green needles and – depending on the age of the tree – grey-green to grey-brown bark.
With constructive protection, the wood is very durable. The durability is like Scots pine – and twice that of red spruce. Constructive protection means that you design and build in such a way that the wood is ventilated and water is diverted away, so that the wood has the opportunity to dry out.
